The Brains
About Me
I am a 26-year-old woman living in Seattle, WA, with a passion for sexuality, pleasure, and building community. In 2025, I was impacted by mass layoffs in the tech industry and have spent the last year scrolling career boards, staring at the ceiling, doing odd jobs, and getting VERY comfortable with rejection and loneliness.
Somewhere in all of the slowness, it became clear that what I am missing is not productivity or purpose — it is curiosity.
I built the Broke Pleasure Project as an outlet to document my thoughts, opinions, and research about the Sexual Wellness space. What started as a way to reconnect with myself, has grown into something much bigger.
About the Project
The Broke Pleasure Project is a self-directed study in sexuality, desire, femininity, and curiosity. I created this space during a time of self-reflection, loneliness, and unknowns in an attempt to reconnect with my passions.
It started as a blog: part sex toy reviews, part personal journal, and part portfolio in hopes of one day pivoting to the sexual wellness space. Over time, I found there is more to this project than can live on a Substack, and I wanted to share it with my community.
Since then, I’ve hosted Broke Pleasure Parties where friends, partners, and strangers can gather to learn about intimacy and pleasure. We learn about pleasure toys, communication in the bedroom, and normalize the discomfort that comes with sex talk.
In a time where social media and artificial intelligence are moving us further from human connection, I wanted to find opportunities to re-engage face-to-face with people through educational, funny, unique, and vulnerable experiences.
